Night School
an interactive audio tour created by Margo Gray

Have you ever been somewhere new, somewhere you felt out of place and a little lost? How did you start to feel more comfortable? Who helped you? What did you risk to make your way in this new place?

Peek into the minds of early immigrants to Chisholm, Minnesota as they tell their stories in their own words. Listen to excerpts from writings of students of the adult “night school” for immigrants who wanted to learn English and become US citizens. Mixed with instructions from the American-born teachers and examples of night school English lessons, this audio experience takes you back to Chisholm’s past and reflects on what the town might mean today.

Available June 15 - September 15, 2024
at the Longyear Lake Trail in Chisholm, MN
